Diets low in carbohydrates increase the likelihood of premature death, as much as 30 percent, according to an Australian study that reviewed 18 studies on high-protein diets in the long term.

In the short term, a year, a diet low in carbohydrates and high in protein gives some advantages, but in the long term, these diets cause 30 percent more likely to die.

In Japan, a country where people have one of the longest life expectancies in the world, 60 percent of the diet comes from carbohydrates.

The researcher Hiroshi Noto in a research published in the journal Plos One had already found that a diet low in carbohydrates has led to live 0.27 years of life in less in 10 years.

Other studies have found that a 'supply, based on limited consumption of carbohydrates, prevents to consume fats and sugars "stored" in adipose tissue as energy.
